Poopie Pants Expert

Anna is a Poopie pants expert! That is why it has been so long since blogging..... Okay not a good reason? I suppose that's right. Any way, the day worth blogging about happened about 3 weeks ago, but NOW it is a regular occurrence, but still worth blogging about.

It was the Thursday before my husband took me to Sedona. I DESPERATELY needed a weekend away. I mean, I was falling into a black hole.
ALSO... Bible study day. I have study in the morning from 9:30-11 and again in the evening from 6-10ish. I am not doing this to get extra holy or any thing, although it is proving to be kind of a purgatory. Suffering is building my character, I hope, any way.
After morning group I went to target to get a bathing suit. (Because since having Anna I have not lost any Lbs. It seams like I would have lost at least 8 at the hospital when she was born. I guess I gained the all back eating hospital turkey sandwiches.) (Okay, it's not QUITE that bad, but almost. I am really flabby!) Shopping for a suit is TOTALLY DEPRESSING, emotional and exhausting. I wanted to take Carol alone, to spend some special time with her before leaving her for the weekend. BUT, Anna didn't have a sitter. SO, we all loaded up in the red basket, with Popcorn and a drink to make it special. Having a wonderful time, JUST then... We arrived at the bathing suit section and Anna started to whimper. I hurried things along, knowing I wouldn't have long. The red basket fit's in the family fitting room, thankfully! I got down to the bear essentials, tried on suits..... By the time I was almost in tears but, moderately happy with a suit both girls were crying. I let Carol out, who now smelled like POOH! She wanted to sit on the fitting room bench, so she took off all the cloths I was working with, including my own cloths, and stored them UNDER the basket. Mean while, ANNA is screaming So LOUD for about 5 min now. I hunt for my cloths, under the basket, and get dressed. When I take Anna out of her car seat to put her in the sling she is covered in BRIGHT ORANGE STICKY GOO! So I decide she will last to the car, or bath room if I put her in the sling. In the sling she goes. I clean up the room, pick out my cloths and start to head out.... Anna is still screaming, carol Smells so Bad like Pooh, but I can't even smell her cause I have Anna strapped to me...
She is FREAKING OUT! I unload and undress her, right there in the changing room. At this point I had been in that little room at least 30 min. On the bench, I clean up Anna who has Pooh in her ears and on her elbows. But Carol is MAD, because she had worked so hard to get to climb on the bench. With pooh EVERY where, Carol is trying to climb on the bench and sit. I now have sweat on my brow, so stressed out. Finally Anna is clean and happy, but I have no extra cloths. So she is in the sling in only a diaper. We exit the changing room to finish my shopping.
I called Dave to tell him about this experience, and Carol Started saying Uh oh, uh oh, uh oh... FINALLY when I listen, I see she has spilled fruit punch all down the front of her, and it is dripping on the floor.

Needless to say the Target employees helped me get out of there as fast as possible.
I was ready for my weekend away..... Only for it to start all over, only the next time was at our fancy dinner, in front of tuna Tartar and a glass of wine.

The Lesson: If Anna didn't Pooh Yesterday, STAY HOME and ALWAYS bring a change of cloths, or two.

Carol is Growing

There are so many wonderful things about being a mother who gets to stay home to raise her children. Among the many are; giving your self as a gift to them. Your time, energy, your nourishment (nursing)and even the gift of life.

Today I want to talk about being able to watch them grow, each day. It isn't until I look back on pictures that I see how much my little Care Bear has grown. She is so wonderful, and quite the entertainer. She is teaching her sister to read, by force. She is getting really good at giving kisses, even with the sound. And what a wonderful sleeper. Carol is really good at sharing, especially with her little sister. She also entertains herself quite well. For this, I am so grateful! One last thing, and this is Especially for Carrie Bobb. She DANCES!

(Eventually this will have some video, but I am still learning how to do that.)

Baptism

The Church baptizes infants so that they may be reborn to the divine life of grace in Christ Jesus and become heirs of heaven.

Baptism in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy spirit frees us from the tainting of original sin, and welcomes us into Christs Church. Baptism is also for the parents, god parents, family, friends, and the whole Church to commit to being a part of the child's spiritual development.

Anna's baptism was really special! Lot's of our friends and family joined us. Uncle Richie and Aunt Lisa are her god parents, it was a joyous occasion!

Even Little Joey came. He was hopeing to wed that day. =) He is getting baptized this week!

Dear Lord,
So far today I've done all right. I Haven't been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish, or very indulgent. I am very grateful for that. But in a few minutes, Lord, I'm going to get out of bed, and from then on, I'm going to need a lot more help. Amen.

Carol got a new book (SAVERS!) its a "Play with Cheerios" book.

Busy box

I made a "busy box" (from the busy todler book) this week. It is especially for the car. I have been running in to allot of whining in the car the past week or so. Carol needs something to keep her hands busy. I love to take advantage of her sitting quietly and looking out the window.
I strive for thoes moments, but in the case that she is not up for window watching I want to be prepared. See Whining whears me out. If I am going to be a good mommy and not get warn out on the little every day things, I Must plan ahead. And so... I give you the busy box!

It is full of books, small toys, snacks and one of Carol's favorite blankets. I situated it right under the Center Constole within my reach, and out of her sight. If she saw it she would ask and ask for all the toys. This way I can supprise her.

Now my hope is I can catch Carol right before her breaking point. She can sit quietly as long as she can, but then I have to recognize the sighn. She If I wait until she starts whining and THEN give her a toy, I have rewarded her bad behavoir. The more I pay attention the easier it is to catch her BEFORE she is at that point.

The busy box is already working! Thank God for great ideas!

PS. There are also baby whipes in the busy box. When do you NOT need a baby whipe? Even if you are a grown up with no kids. Baby whipes clean up ANY MESS. Coffee on your jeans? Dirty hands after pumping gas, that black muck on your cute pants when you get in the car! YES Baby whips can almost do any thing. I would say to any one, you need to keep baby whipes in the car.

Honeymoon!

Recently some friends were over visiting and we busted out the "Honeymoon" scrap book. Graciously they let us talk and talk all about our stories, it was really fun to think and laugh about our first month together. Today I FINALLY took the ONLY pictures we have from that trip, off the camera. See we broke our Camera the first day in Mexico. TRAGIC! But Dave kept a journal of our trip and really, I think it captured our adventure far better than a picture would have.

In Sedona we spent two nights in a little casita on the mountain. We spent the days sleeping, and sipping on coffee, reading books.

We had wonderful food and Wine,

and enjoyed beautiful views.

The ride home in the Jeep was HOT!~

The next day we left for Mexico, stopping in Yuma at our Favorite burrito place, MR. G's.

Our first nights stop we stayed in a little dump with beds and clean water.

Then out on the town. THIS is where we broke our camera.

The memories will last forever!

No, Pictures and not really much to say. Just updating you on the boogers and poo side of things. Before I go feed. Yes... Remember... Feed, change, sleep, nurse, butter, boogers and poo.

One of the "do it all" mom's I speak of, today told me she only milk's her goat when they have babies, and she can't make her own butter cause they don't have a churner. WONDERFUL! I'm off the hook.

All the girls, and the Daddy were sick for a few weeks, so many boogers in our house. Still cleaning up the little girls boogers.

Poo.... Strangely enough this week we have had 5 or 6 diaper leaks. One was Carol with really smelly, runny poo..... it was during nap time. So not only did I miss out on my quiet house, she needed clean sheets. And Anna is now down to pooping once or twice a day and they are Explosive! Lots of dirty stained cloths for the Laundry.
This is part of the reason you haven't heard about Anna's special baptism and Carol learning to use the potty, but we will get to that soon.

PS.. I LOVE BEING A MOMMY! I don't think I mind the boogers and poo as much as you would. It's half my DNA any way.
